Greetings, diving fans. This website contains pictures & movies from the scuba trip the Daring Divers From Hell took to Statia and Saba in the Netherlands Antilles from Feb. 23 thru March 9, 2004.
Something new this year: I finally got an underwater housing for my camera, so I was able to take some underwater pictures instead of just supplying "top-side" pics as in years past. Also, my camera lets me make small AVI movies, so I have a couple of those, complete with sound.
A new "daring diver" joined the team this year: Randy Schukar. He's another one of the old "Iowa City Gang" from high school and college years. Randy earned his stripes as a "daring diver" if for no other reason than finding Jeff's lost "baggie-wallet", but not telling Jeff that he had found it until we had Jeff out on the street in the middle of the night hunting for it with a flashlight. No deaths or beatings resulted (a minor miracle if you ask me!)

It took Jeff 11 months to send me his pictures. Then I sat on them for another 6 months without posting them to the site. But they're finally here (or you can click on the link below.)

Jim finally sent me his pictures. Actually, I don't think I'm entitled to say "finally" as this is by far the fastest he's ever sent them to me! * I took this movie of Jeff as a test to make sure I knew how to use the camera to take a movie. Less than a minute later the turtle in Turtle Movies 1 and 2 swam by! Good thing I made the "test film".
** I finally got the color balance right on this turtle movie. I was (and still am) worried about this little fella. I think he was sick or something. He kept bumping into everything and getting himself stuck.
